Equipment You’ll Need
• Mixing bowls
• Stick Blender (high sheer blender)
• Scale
• Pot or microwave safe container
• Stove, hot plate, or microwave (for melt phase)
Ingredients
0.05 Lbs – Cetyl Palmitate, Sorbitan Palmitate, Sorbitan Olivate
0.02 Lbs – Glyceryl Stearate SE
0.03 Lbs – Cetyl Alcohol
0.06 Lbs – Kokum Butter
0.006 Lbs – Xanthan Gum
0.05 Lbs – Sorbitol
0.03 Lbs – Colloidal Oatmeal
0.02 Lbs – Caprylhydroxamic Acid (and) Glyceryl Caprylate (and) Glycerin
1.54 Lbs – Deionized Water
0.2 Lbs – Golden Jojoba Oil – Certified Organic
Directions
Water Phase
Weigh and add the following ingredients to a large pot and heat to 150 degrees
0.54 Lbs – Deionized Water
0.03 Lbs – Colloidal Oatmeal
0.08 Lbs – Sorbitol
Using your stick blender, slowly sprinkle Xanthan Gum into your pot while mixing with your blender, be sure to mix constantly to avoid any clumps. You will notice your water phase getting more viscous.
0.006 Lbs – Xanthan Gum
Use your stick blender to mix VERY thoroughly and set aside
Oil Phase
Place the following ingredients in a pot or microwave-safe container and heat until completely melted or to 170 degrees.
0.2 Lbs – Golden Jojoba Oil
0.1 Lbs – Cetyl Palmitate, Sorbitan Palmitate, Sorbitan Olivate
0.08 Lbs – Glyceryl Stearate SE
0.03 Lbs – Cetyl Alcohol
0.06 Lbs – Kokum Butter
Make sure your water phase ingredients are still hot and at about 150 degrees. Slowly add the melted oil phase ingredients to the Water Phase ingredients – be sure to use your stick blender mixing all of the ingredients while adding Oil Phase ingredients to Water Phase ingredients. Continue to mix until all ingredients are fully blended and your lotion is fully emulsified.
Once your lotion is cooled to 110F – Add the following Preservative and mix thoroughly.
0.02 Lbs – Caprylhydroxamic Acid (and) Glyceryl Caprylate (and) Glycerin
